 For many years cast iron pipe was joined together at a union called a hub.

The connection was sealed using oakum and melted lead.

A Canadian inventor produced a new style of coupling.

This new "Mechanical Joint" was introduced into the market in 1960.

A mechanically interlocking connection that became know as a "No-Hub" joint.

 

Why use No-Hub?

Use extruded pipe in longer, unbroken sections.

Represent a significant cost reduction.

Installation becomes easier.
